Abstract
Aspal yang digunakan sebagai bahan perkerasan jalanharusmemenuhipersyaratantertentuyang ditetapkanDirektoratJenderal Bina Margaagar dapat memikul beban lalu lintas selama umur yang telah direncanakan. Namun seringkali ditemukan bahwa aspal yang digunakan tidak sesuai dengan standar. Karena itu, perlu ada upaya untuk meningkatkan kualitas aspal dengan modifikasi menggunakan bahan-bahan lain.Tulisan ini ingin mengkaji hubungan antara sifat fisik aspal yang dimodifikasi limbah PVC dan LLDPE dengan sifat-sifat volumetrik campuran, yaitu rongga di antara mineral agregat (VMA), rongga dalam campuran (VIM) dan rongga terselimuti aspal (VFB).Sifat fisik aspal modifikasi limbah PVC dan LLDPE yang dikaji adalah daktilitas, penetrasi dan titik lembek. Dari analisa yang dilakukan, disimpulkan bahwa daktilitas, penetrasi dan titik lembek aspal modifikasi limbah PVC dan LLDPE berpengaruh sangat signifikan terhadap sifat volumetrik campuran aspal-agregat. Campuran asphalt concrete wearing course yang menggunakan aspalmodifikasi limbah PVC menghasilkan ikatan antara aspal dan agregat yang lebih kuatdibandingkan dengan campuran yang menggunakan aspal modifikasi limbah LLDPE.
